All students applying for admission to JCI Institute must meet the following requirements. No exceptions or waivers are permitted.

ALL STUDENTS

• All applicants must have a grade 12 diploma or be 19 years of age

• All applicants must submit a copy of valid photo ID (driver’s licence, passport, or BC ID) or a copy of a diploma and or/transcript

• All applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate English comprehension, as per the Language Proficiency Assessment Policy

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

• All international applicants must submit a copy of a valid study permit through Citizenship and Immigration Canada

• All international applicants must have British Columbia Medical Services Plan (BC MSP) coverage

CO-OP STUDENTS

• All co-op students must submit a copy of a valid co-op education work permit through Citizenship and Immigration Canada

• All co-op students must have British Columbia Medical Services Plan (BC MSP) coverage

All applicants must

• Complete an Application for Admissions

• Supply a registration deposit

• Attend an interview (in person, virtual, or phone)

• Write a Letter of Intent

Core Fashion Design program applicants must have successfully completed the following pre-requisite courses:

• Basic fashion illustration (female croquis drawings by hand)

• Elements of Design (flats by hand, understanding of design process, collection development)

• Adobe Illustrator

• Textiles

To join the Media Makeup program in progress at Level 3, students must have successfully completed the JCI FAB (Freelance and Bridal Makeup program) or the Business of Beauty program as a pre-requisite. Students will only be admitted into Level 3 of the program should a vacancy be available.
